April Conference Handouts

Technology Conference Speaker - Kathy Schrock
Kathy sight was loaded with inforation about education and technology. In connection with our class, Kathy website has an entire section divoted to Personal learning networks. Another great resource on her website that interested me was about Project Based Learning. During the TIE conference, I had went to a breakout session on PBL and found a lot of information to make the projects in art even more project based. One website that I discovered was Creaza (http://www.creazaeducation.com/). Creaza allows you to create mind mapping, comics, audio clips, and movies.

“Planning & Preparing Successful Technology Training: Session Design, Training Materials & Presenting.”
Anthony Lescre stated out the OETC 2011 presentation “Planning & Preparing Successful Technology Training: Session Design, Training Materials & Presenting.” During the presentation, Lescre gave information on how to present web tools to others. As part of the USF masters in technology program, I have become more aware of my role as a teacher to educate other teachers. With the surplus of knowledge that I have acquired from my master program already, it is essential to spread that knowledge to other professionals that I work with.

While a lot of the information was review for me, I did find it good to review how and why parts of technology presentations should be formatted a certain way. Teaching teachers is very similar to teaching students so Lescre information was second nature for the most part. However, Lescre stated that all documents sent to audiences for a presentation should be in PDF from. Online I put a lot of information out there that is in word format but to protect my material and to ensure that everyone can open the material, a PDF is a much more successful format to use.
